Whats in a Name?

On January 2, 2011 we blessed Dylan and gave him a name and a blessing. Dylan Todd Richards is a very special name to us! '

I had a room all ready for our little girl and I had the girl name in vinyl lettering up on the wall. You know how you picture the birth of your child... well I had it all in my head how this one was going to go. We did not find out with Addey or Reece what we were having so when I had pictured there births I pictured the Dr saying it is a... and it was big surprise, I loved it!! With this one they had told me I was having a girl so I pictured hearing oh look what a beautiful little girl and concentrating more on what happened after. Watching them take my sweet baby and looking her over every little perfect detail. I wanted to watch that moment and take it all in!! That is not what happened. It was even better! I knew it was my last push and I was getting ready to watch it all happen and then I thought I heard OH IT'S A BOY!! It took me a minute to register, I had it all in my head, I was playing it in my head and that is not what they said. I even missed them taking "HIM" away so I did not even get to look for myself. I looked at Wacey in probly a very confuused look and when I saw him I knew I had heard right. "IT'S A BOY". Still very confussed I said how am I suppose to name him HOPE? I did look over and I got to see the nurses checking him out, The weight came up clear 7 Ib 3 Oz, I was still trying to see if I had really indeed had a boy. The Dr. asked my mom if he looked like the girls and she said he definatly fits in. I said almost as a question ,but with different parts? The Dr. laughed and brought him over to me and said do you even have a boy name picked out? Again Wacey and I looked at each other and said Dylan Todd!! We really did not have it picked out at all. I don't even know when we had discussed that name. Even when Addey and Reece were born I was thinking I did not want a "common" name (with Wacey and Beau Dee I thought you had to be a little creative)... (And Addey was not common when I named her) So on our list were some of those creative names. We always joked that it was a good thing we had girls because we could never really agree on a boy name.

I guess I had told Wacey before that when I was little I always said my boy would be Dylan. Growing up we always called my Uncle Matt, Dylan. For anyone who knows my uncle Matt you know why that name is so special!! Yes Dylan is on the top 100 name list and I think that is why it was never on my list, yes it has become a "common" name.. but for some reason we both Knew our sweet surprise was Dylan Todd. And it is special because he is named after his Great Uncle Matt !!!

Our Surprise!

We have a little Brother at our house!! Yes I did have a split second of sheer panic... but only because I only had a pink outfit to bring him home in, and the room was all purple, and I had the name we had picked out already on the wall. But only for a second and then I looked at Wacey and I was so happy!!

And I know he is now a month old sohere are some pictures (For some reason I have a lot of pictures on my phone) but here are some I have taken!! Isn't HE cute!!

Happy Birthday my Reece Jeanne!!

I really need to stop calling Reece My baby girl... she is turning 4, and she is growing up so fast!!

I really do not know where the 4 years have gone. Reece has always been such a good easy going girl, she doesn't say to much and when she does say something she is so funny! Lately she will get in moods where she goes off on stories or questions and I wonder if they have just been brewing up inside. She can also tell her sister off if she does not like something. She is so sweet and loves to cuddle and rub my arm. Reece is very detailed and remembers everything. I locked myself out of the house once and now everytime we get ready to leave she reminds me to get the keys and she never losses anything. She can sit for hours just content and can entertian herself, but she also likes friends and to play with her sister. What can I say?? I just can not believe she is 4 and growing up and not my baby anymore... My Reece Jeanne has been such a blessing and is going to be such a good Big sister!! Happy Birthday we love you !!

To know or not to know??

Yes I changed the layout of my blog... did you see it?? I never thought I would be adding a pregnancy tracker right now but it is there!! 12 weeks and 1 day!! I went in yesterday for my ultrasound since I was not really sure on my dates and that puts my due date November 2, 2010!!
My last post kinda says it all, and even though we were not expecting to have a baby right now we really could not be more excited and I know God has given us everything we need! Funny when we were trying to decide what kind of car we could get and Wacey mentioned the van I pretty much laughed. Why in the world would we get a van?? Well turnes out it might come in handy. (and I have learned to loved the sliding doors)

So my next question for everone is this.. To know or not to know?? What do you think about finding out the sex of the baby? A little back ground on us so you can give me your opinion on what you think we should do: We did not find out on our last two. I wanted it this way which is kinda crazy since I HATE surprises. I loved every little experience wondering if it was a boy or girl Kicking me and keeping my up at night and the birth was so worth the wait when they said it is a ... GIRL !! I wonder if this time they would say its a... BOY, But I will not care either way. Wacey says we ARE finding out. I had it my way the last two times so maybe I should be ok with just finding out this time. The only reason I am wanting to say no is because we did it twice I know we can do it and I know that it was exciting to find out at the birth but it would be just as exciting a little earlier at the ultrasound. And I keep saying is it fair that we did not find out with Addey and Reece and then we do with this one?? So what do you think should I go with Wacey and find out or wait????

I asked God...

I asked God for Strength,
He gave me difficult times to make me strong.
I asked God for Wisdom,
He gave me problems to solve.
I asked God for Prosperity,
He gave me brain and brawn to work.
I asked God for Courage,
He gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked God for Love,
He gave me troubled people to help.
I asked God for Favors,
He gave me Opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted,
And everything I needed!!

I love adventures...

Did I really just say that?? Cuz sometimes I wonder about this adventure, but really this is just one of those reminders that life is a adventure...

Yesterday Reece was sitting on my lap while I was reading e-mails and looking at blogs. I was looking at what everyone was doing and e-mails that I had lists of things I needed to do. I noticed Reece there because she was rubbing my arm like she always does when she is tired or wants to snuggle, I had even told her to hold still about 10 times. But I did not really notice her until she all of a sudden jumped up and said " Well mom I am off to an adventure" I stopped for a minute and wondered what in the world I was doing. Why was I not taking advantage of her sitting on my lap wanting to snuggle with me? I thought about all the adventures she will go on... and I am afraid one day soon she is going to jump up and tell me " well mom I am off to an adventure" and I am not going to be ready, I will want her to snuggle with me and rub my arm. I have heard her many times today say she is on a adventure and I have no idea where she got that from but I LOVE IT!! I love the adventure of being a mom to 2 beautiful adventurous girls!!
I think this is one of very few times Addey is thinking about an adventure and not in the middle of one!

I ♥ my family!!

It has been a while since I did a post, I was thinking of the theme I have been doing and all the things I love! I just HAD to put this picture on because
I Love it, and I LOVE MY GIRLS!!

My Cousin did a post on how she had learned the term "in the weeds" while she was waitressing. The term meaning you feel so swamped you can't get out... You know the feeling, when you feel like you are in a bad dream and you can not wake up. I had never heard that term, although I have felt that way and after reading her post felt like I can relate to her. This last year I have felt like I am "in the weeds" a lot.
Wacey and I were talking last night after another week of not seeing each other much and we were talking about how Happy we really are. We have our beautiful daughters, we have a home, we have food to eat, and we are working together to make this work. Yes I have to make my schedule work so I can go to work but still get Addey off the bus, My house seems like it is always cramped and a mess, dinner seems like just another chore (especially when I try to make something nice and healthy for the girls and Wacey isn't even there to eat), and it has been really hard to juggle the kids, work, and doing a lot of it myself while I know Wacey is working just as hard working during the day to provide for us and going to POST at night.
I have had so much help from so many people and I appriciate it so much! My mom takes a day (sometimes two) out of her already busy scedule to watch my girls (I do not know how I would go to work and make any money if I had to pay a babysitter). I also have many friends and cousins willing to help me (you know who you are!!) and I just want you all to know I really really apriciate it. Thanks Chelsea for the Term! Weeds can be cut down, they are pesky and more weeds grow... but you will not drown in weeds! And thank you Wacey for working so hard and walking through the weeds with me! I ♥ my family!!
